Weis Markets will open a new prototype store in Enola, PA near Harrisburg in late March.
The concept referred to as a “Community Market” will extend over 65,000 ft2 and will include an in-store bar and ice-cream parlor, juice bar and food court. Accord to CEO Jonathan Weis, the store was designed to take service to the next level to combat deep discount stores such as Aldi and high-volume competitors including Giant-Carlisle, Wegmans and Walmart.
Weis stated, “We want to be interesting, not boring or dull. We just have a philosophy that we're not going to be afraid to fail.”
