USDA FORECASTS SPRING 2017 PLANTING

According to presentations at the USDA Annual Agricultural Outlook Forum, U.S. farmers are expected to plant 88 million acres of soybeans in 2017, up from 83.4 million last year.

Corn acreage is expected to fall to 90 million acres compared to 94 million acres in 2017.

The shift is in response to the relative demand and hence prices for corn and soybeans.
