Randy Day Promoted to CEO of Perdue

Randy Day, currently Chief Operating Officer of Perdue Farms has been promoted to CEO and elevated to the company’s Board of Directors.

Dr. Jim Perdue chairman of Perdue Farms stated “Randy has done an outstanding job as COO over the past year and he has my trust and the trust of our leadership team in this new role.” 

According to the Perdue Farms press release Randy Day is the fourth CEO in the company’s 100-year history.

Day is a 36-year veteran of Perdue Farms and his experience will be applied to the strategic leadership of the company.

  

A native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Day graduated from Easton High School and received a BS degree in biology from Western Maryland College.  His Master’s degree in nutrition was earned from the University of Maryland at College Park and he has completed the Advanced Executive Program at the Harvard Business School.

Day has an extensive record of service to the poultry industry with membership on the Boards of the International Food Service Manufacturers Association, the National Turkey Federation and the National Chicken Council.  He is also active in social and regional promotion of education and commerce in Wicomico County and in Salisbury, MD.
