Hampton Creek CEO Claims SEC-DOJ Investigations Concluded

Apr 6, 2017

Josh Tetrick, CEO of Hampton Creek, noted in a statement posted on Food Dive that the investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice have been been concluded without action.

In August, Bloomberg published reports which have not been denied that Hampton Creek employed freelance and company employees to repurchase Just Mayo® from store shelves creating the false impression of consumer demand.

A concurrent posting by Sara O’Brien on March 24th on CNN Tech quoted Amr Razzak, an attorney representing Hampton Creek, that the DOJ had advised  that the inquiry into Hampton Creek had been closed. According to observers, Hampton Creek has raised $120 million in venture capital funding.

In a related matter, Andrew Noyes, previously Corporate Communications Head at Uber, has joined the company as Senior Director of Communications.
